This Sunday Sesh we are raising our glasses to the Dark 'n' Stormy!
In 1991 something strange happened, the Gosling brothers Limited, a company that makes and distributes rum, Trademarked their own cocktail! As odd as that might sound, in America, you cannot call this drink a 'Dark 'n' Stormy' unless it is made from official GBL Black Seal Rum. This drink was created when sailors, added their Black Seal Rum to a mug of ginger beer.
So spit in a mug, and clean er' out for this simple classic.
A good place to start with the Vieux Carre, perhaps, is how to pronounce it. Although the name is French, the pronunciation most certainly is not. This cocktail is pronounced ‘voo car-ray’.
Here's to all the good times wasted on having good times and the good times to come. 1960's gritty and bluesy sounding British band Eric Burdon and The Animals are giving us 'The Good Times', an ode to regrets of having wasted time away on useless things, only thing is, we don't regret them!
