This Sunday Sesh we are raising our glasses to the Boulevardier !
This treat was created by an American-born writer who founded a monthly magazine in Paris called Boulevardier, a magazine described in an early advertisement as best “read before, between and after cocktails.” In fitting form it was not long after that the tittle itself became adapted into a popular drink of the time.
- So dust off that cocktail stirrer and get in!
A good place to start with the Vieux Carre, perhaps, is how to pronounce it. Although the name is French, the pronunciation most certainly is not. This cocktail is pronounced ‘voo car-ray’.
Here's to all the good times wasted on having good times and the good times to come. 1960's gritty and bluesy sounding British band Eric Burdon and The Animals are giving us 'The Good Times', an ode to regrets of having wasted time away on useless things, only thing is, we don't regret them!
