SUNDAY SESH // MONKEY GLAND

SUNDAY SESH // MONKEY GLAND

This Sunday Sesh we are raising our glasses to the Monkey Gland!

Looking for a remedy? The Monkey Gland Cocktail is top of the list!

The Monkey Gland was inspired by what would be a mad-scientist by 21st Century standards.. A man called 'Voronoff' who was experimenting with various implants. The most famous of these was the grafting of monkey testicle tissue (or monkey glands) to human testicles. He became well-known for this rather shocking technique. Over time, he received a considerable amount of ridicule for it. He died in near obscurity in the 1950s.
As you can imagine this was well before the time of Viagra and it's many male enhancement counterparts...
Harry McElhone (owner of Harry's New York Bar in Paris) took credit for the invention of the monkey gland. He also claims that the name was inspired by Serge Voronoff!
